Housebuilder Recommended Solicitors To Avoid
« on: May 29, 2017, 08:05:57 am »
There are many reasons why new homebuyers should avoid using any firm of solicitors recommended or suggested by a housebuilder as there is a clear and obvious potential for "conflict of interest". This has been particularly demonstrated leasehold scandal, where new houses have been sold on a leasehold basis and buyers not informed of the pitfalls and clauses that were not in their interests such as doubling ground rents - the housebuilders's PPI

Below is a list of firms of solicitors (in one place) known to have been recommended by housebuilders, which, in my opinion, new   homebuyers should never use even if housebuilders pay legal fees or offer other incentives.

Some of these firms also work for housebuilders and are paid to protect  the housebuilder's interests!
Obviously none of these firms would be suitable for taking legal action against a housebuilder.

My solicitor was Eric Robinson from Southampton who failed to explain clearly that my freehold house was restricted with covenants in favour of my housebuilder Bloor Homes.

They also failed to clarify what sold as seen meant. As far as they are concerned, only establishing the title of the property is their job. I have since found out other things that were not included in the local search. Hmmmm.
