Charles Church Boilers Not Wired Correctly
« on: April 15, 2016, 07:41:40 am »
My boiler not wired in properly or notified to Gas Safe Register.
British Gas serviced mine, found issue and said had seen similar on estate. My neighbour's boiler similarly incorrectly wired.
I suggested Charles Church check boilers installed by same contractor to ensure safe.
They refused. I don't know how they sleep at night!

I reported to the HSE who didn't pursue it! Just frightening!

The Gas Safety Register were also not interested as it was the wiring.
The NICEIC are not interested because it is a boiler installation.
Local building control are not interested because NHBC did the building control!

I don't know what is more shocking, the fact that Charles Church did and are doing nothing, or the fact that the other supervisiory agencies supposed to protect the public's safety would all rather pass the buck to avoid doing anything too!

Why don't you put a notification through EVERY letterbox on your development informing buyers of their dangerous boiler installation?

Finally, as the NHBC did both the waranty and building control,  write to them and ask them how and why this happened.

We recently had an inspection of the central heating at a Char!es Church development. It was carried out by Scottish Power and it failed on boiler wiring. The customer Careless are useless and simply not interested.

I have had to employ an electrician to fix same and Charles Church are simply refusing to comment or acknowledge they are at fault. They used the wrong flex from controller to boiler and the bare ends were left dangling next to live wires. Luckily the local electrician was spot on and he didn't seem surprised that Charles Church are useless.

It would seem that not wiring boilers correctly is a common problem with Charles Church new homes.
You would think that, given it is a safety issue and one which is only being picked up by buyers' own service engineers or tradesmen, Charles Church would be all over this offering to check and make safe all boilers on any development as soon as they know about a problem.

Sadly, Charles Church are part of Persimmon, rated just three stars (for "satisfaction")by their own customers two years running, would also appear not to care about their customers safety!
