Proof house builders do not care as Harron Homes are fined
« on: September 20, 2014, 09:29:44 am »
Leeds based house builder Harron Homes ended up in Bradford and Keighley Magistrates' court after residents next to the large house building site in the village of Wilsden, near Bradford were woken up at 2am with the noise of compacting wacker plates thumping in the early hours of June 10 2014.

The workers were preparing the ground for another gang to get an early start later that morning at the Harron Homes site on Crack Lane with planning for 82 homes.

Bradford Council lawyers said: "Neighbours,  became quite distressed and annoyed that they had been woken when they heard an industrial device operating at 2am"  adding "that some residents had got up and gone to complain to the workmen, but were ignored".   The work only ceased at 3.15am after police arrived and persuaded the workmen to stop.

Magistrate Carl Davids fined the house builder £3,334 and ordered Harron Homes to pay court costs of £1,364.
He added: "We are not going to tolerate people working with wackers at two or three o'clock in the morning. That is absolutely ridiculous.  We want to send that message out to all those builders who are breaking the law."

If ever there was an example proving house builders only care about themselves this is it!
Anyone thinking of buying a home from this inconsiderate house builder would be well advise to read  about Harron Homes on this Forum first!
