Millions of public sector workers set to strike over the increase in their pension contributions from 6% to 9% of their salary, but this could be avoided.
If the 99 different pension funds managing over £100bn were consolidated and the costs and fees reduced to the lowest charged, the saving in annual fees and charges would equate to the 3% extra contribution now being required by workers.
