Frustrated buyer and creator of Laybase
« on: April 15, 2021, 02:21:56 pm »
I bought a new build with my wife back in 2017. We're very happy with the house (4 years on) but found the whole build process and communication from the developer very frustrating. We got no updates on the progress of the build and were basically left in the dark for 12 months until it was time to handover the cash.
Pretty stressful when you've committed your life-savings to it!

It was through all this that I set up Laybase, a tool to help developers send instant build updates to all their new home buyers. It's grown a lot over the last year, but I'm looking forward to hearing other people's experiences on here and happy to answer questions about my experiences where I can.

This will in all probability, fail.
Unless builders are required by warranty providers or government regulation to provide something like this.
Where there is a will there is a way.

IN your case, surely you would have wanted to keep an eye on the progress or not of your own house personally.
