Hi everyone, we are new to this site.
We are hoping that someone can help us or give us some advice. We bought a new build bungalow almost two years ago now. After we moved in we found damaged roof trusses. We contacted the builder who said the repairs had been done. It turns out he was talking about roof felt that was dropped and damaged the trusses. He states they never saw the other damage, which must have been caused by the folk lift.
After this discussion he then presented us with paperwork to say the roof had been repaired to manufacturer's instructions. When we asked would we need to pass this on to any prospective buyer they did not reply. We found out, we would need to disclose this or we could be sued. We were advised to contact our insurance company to tell them of the repair. We are devastated to find out that our insurance will not insure the roof, because it is a pre exsisting repair. We have contacted other insurance companies and they will not insure us. Please can anyone help or advise us.
