According to researchers in Sweden, couples where one partner commutes for longer than 45 minutes are "40% more likely to divorce".
It is thought that longer commuting times mean "disproportionate pain, stress, obestity and dissatisfaction"
British workers spend on average 139 hours a year commuting to work. Once the commute time exceeds 50mins workers are more likley to start looking for another job.
Britain has the longest journey to work times in the world with an average time of 45 mins.
