Internal Doors no longer fit the frame
« on: June 20, 2017, 03:22:11 pm »
Hi,
We are 6 months into our new home, one of the bedroom doors has gradually got harder to close where it now no longer fits the frame so we can't close it at all.

Taylor Wimpey will fix it but I am worried this is as a result of a more serious problem.  Is this possibly down to subsidence?

I doubt it.
The bedroom partition is probably not structural so it would transfer any subsidence loads.
I also suspect you have in a timber frame home and the frame is shrinking as it dries out, which is more likely the cause.
Look for cracks above and below windows on the brickwork.

Let's hope you see this reply a bit quicker than your last post!
