Contact Your MP About New Home Problems
« on: March 16, 2017, 08:07:01 am »
If you are unhappy with the standard of your new home, or the house builder is giving you the run around when you try to get them back to fix defects, please contact your local MP and tell them about it.
There are a growing number of MPs who are now becoming aware of the problems faced by all new home buyers, caused by this profit-driven industry.
Together MPs can put pressure on the government to effect the necessary change and bring in new measures such as a government-appointed New Homes Ombudsman. and the mandatory right for buyers to inspect their new homes before they pay for them. (Legally complete)

So, if you are unhappy with quality of your new home, your housebuilder's after-sales service, or if you have other concerns about the buying process please write and tell your MP about it.

Please ensure you include information such as:
 • Your full name and address.
 • Name of the house builder.
 • Date you legally completed/moved in.
 • The warranty provider.
 • Summary of the main defects and problems with your property.
 • How this is affecting you and your family and any health issues.
 • Summary of the house builder's response to you notifying them of issues and your current situation.
 • The action you want your MP to do on your behalf as their constituent, in response to your enquiry; for example, intervening by contacting the house builder about your issues and confirming their support for measures aimed at addressing the endemic failings in the industry.

Be sure to send a copy Oliver Colvile MP e mail oliver.colvile.mp@parliament.uk who wants to hear from all homebuyers who are having problems and is gathering information to present to the Department of Communities Local Government. (DCLG)
