Haven’t sought the services of a professional snagger yet but considering doing so, just wanted to get some advice as to whether this finish is normal?

Cheers

Apart from letting in insects, it is usual whilst not preferable.
If you have a timber frame house this gap should be 25mm and sealed with mastic.

Please do get your home professionally snagged and inspected before you legally complete.
This is now your right under the NHQC
