New housing estate with ground property maintenance charge
« on: January 20, 2022, 01:40:04 pm »
We live on a new housing estate 2 years old and we have to pay for the upkeep of the grounds which I am happy to pay.

What I am not happy about is that the the company who run the ground maintenance as put the price up 43% this year £166 to £237, surely this is illegal and daylight robbery, does anyone know what we can do about this ?

Most sites have this and it is commonly know as "Fleecehold"  and the reason is clear.

Not sure what is in your deeds and/or other agreements, but I suspect that there is nothing to stop these companies and agents jacking up the costs you pay year on year.

I think you should contact the solicitor who conveyed the home to you and ask his advice.
