Changing locks
« on: May 16, 2019, 11:20:16 am »
One question I have not seen many places....

When you move house, it is generally accepted that you change the locks.

Would you do this with a new build? How much would you trust developers to hand over all the keys at completion and not keep a copy so they can access for snagging or not tell you that XYZ contractor once lost a copy....?

Most locks come with three keys , you are obviously a little concerned  so why not just change them . Most locks fitted as standard are poor  quality so upgrade to  BS quality min .
Thanks

As Maxwell says most locks come with three keys.
Some keys are lost on site and duplicates cut. Its easy to tell.
The key handover certificate list the number of keys given.
I've never heard of anyone being broken into, or keys retained for snagging without owner's permission.
