Brickwork has a face side, that is the sid that will be seen. The reverse side will look dreadful as bricks are of varying size and the excess mortar will only be scrape struck off. The face side is also pointed.
Whilst bricks ideally should be laid frog up, purely to ensure the frog is fully filled with mortar, these look like stock bricks and they usually have a very shallow frog so I wouldn't worry too much.
My advice would be to mention this in writing to the site manager so he will know you are likely to be very difficult and unless he is an idiot he should go out of his way to ensure your new home is built as good as it could be.
As Taylor Wimpey have history for
weak mortar , I would suggest that he also ensure brick joints and fully filled both sides of the wall.
Finally please do have your new home professionly snagged and inspected before you legally complete.
