So much for Austerity - see what the Royals are getting
« on: July 15, 2011, 10:06:48 am »
Last year 2010/2011 the government increased the amount given to Prince Charles by 18% to £1.962 million. This is to help with the cost of his official duties. Prince Charles' main source of income is the Duchy of Cornwall, which gave the Prince £17.796 million last year - a rise of 4% on the previous year.

The Queen makes around £13.5 million from the Duchy of Lancaster and receives an income from the Civil List of £30million a year. From 2013 the Queen will be able to receive a portion of the £211million annual profits from the Crown Estate's £6.6billion of assets. These had been taken away in 1760 and redirected to the treasury.

Meanwhile council workers up and down the country earning above £20,000 are told to agree to a pay cut or lose their jobs!
