To be fair, the Consumer Code would be a complete waste of time. You do have a 100% winnable valid claim though for clear and obvious breaches, but the maximum you can claim is £15,000 and you would even when successful only get a small fraction of that.
This is why a New Homes Ombudsman is required. Write to your MP!
Your best course of action is to complain to your Trading Standards as it is clear that Taylor Wimpey have not complied with the
Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 Even though you have not bought on the nightmare development, I would not be inclined ot be forced into buying a new home of type and design that I had not and do not really want.
You could get some money off but I would ask to get out of the contract.
Hopefully you haven't made mistake number one, and used Taylor Wimpey's recommended firm of solicitors! If you have dismiss them and appoint someone else who is 100% independent and will work in your interests not those of Taylor Wimpey!
