Major Work on Flat

I've had a letter saying that the building manager wants to arrange major works in the little block of six flats one of which I have a mortgage on.

The work involves replacing the floor on all the landings and putting a new carpet down.

How much money do I need to put aside for this?

There is absolutely no way anyone could possibly answer your question.

The management company should obtain 3 quotes and inform you of your individual cost.
I expect along the way ,everyone will be making a slice of the cost at your and the other flat  owner's expense.
