Title: Introduction
Post by: Leonardos84 on December 24, 2017, 07:50:35 am
Hello all, am Leonard. Just reserved a place with David Wilson Homes Basingstoke.
I am hoping to learn more as time goes. Well have made mistake number one by going with their recommended solicitor. Can I change solicitors at this stage.

I would recommend you do.
You will have to pay the current solicitor and forgo any bribes you might have got by using them.
But, as you can appreciate, it is better to have a solicitor who is 100% independent of the industry that will be representing your interests not the housebuilder's.  Please expect some resistance from David Wilson Homes as no doubt you have an exchange deadline to meet.

Here you can find a list of solicitors to AVOID using.  (http://forum.brand-newhomes.co.uk/solicitors-and-legal-issues/housebuilder-recommended-solicitors-to-avoid/)

Whatever you do, my advice is don't buy an Avant Home!
