Running 1,000km in a 100 days - Fundraising for Children with Cancer UK

(1/1)

New Home Expert:
During the coronavirus crisis, I am running my own "1,000km in 100 days" challenge fundraising for
Children with Cancer UK.  Click on this link to donate.

I am 61 and running and aiming to raise at least £5,000.
I am also trying to get others to do the same challenge, if I can.

It is quite gruelling schedule (a 10km a day average) and 1,000km is 621 miles and about:
 * London to Copenhagen or London to Berlin.
 * Equivalent to London to Manchester (and back) twice!
 * The distance of Lands End to John O’Groats (but as the crow flies!)
 * and 24 marathons!

I anticipate I will have completed this around 22 July (100th day) subject to weather and an absence of injuries!

Thus far, as of today 6 June I have run 549km in 45 running days (54 calendar days)
Premier League footballers (half my age!) complain about playing three matches in 7 days,  running circa 10km each game and that is over 90 minutes with a 20min break half way!

If any members of the forum or visitors would like to make a donation to this worthy charity , it will give me even more encouragement.

Please note that all donations made via the donation button on the website will also be forwarded to this too.

Thank you.

Worthy cause and great feat!

New Home Expert:
Thanks.
I managed to raise £1,750 for Children with Cancer in total.
To be honest it was harder doing the fundraising than doing the actual running.
I also managed 1,000 miles in 160 calendar days in 2020.

Continuing with it into 2021 aiming for 2,000 miles in a calendar year.
A lot more tricky as the weather later in the year reduces the opportunities.  I'm at 700miles so far.
