Be careful what you wish for!

Be careful what you wish for, the pessimists will say,
Don't go chasing rainbows, or you'll live to rue the day.
Although the grass looks greener, things aren't quite what they seem,
Don't sacrifice reality, for some romantic dream.
But then again, the optimists will have a different view,
They'll say just go for it, if it's what you want to do.
And even if things don't work out, it might not be so bad,
'Cos it's better to have had a go, than to have wished you had!
Your outlook will depend on, which philosophy you keep,
Is it "he who hesitates is lost" or "Look before you leap"
But that's what life is all about, putting judgement to the test,
Sometimes we choose the wrong road, other times it's for the best.
