Title: Poor brickwork???
Post by: semi_twigs0s on January 08, 2022, 05:15:43 pm
I would value your opinion on the following brickwork.
Do you think this is at the acceptable level of workmanship, the colour variations on the brick colour (banding) and some mortar colour mismatch are really bothering me.

Your input and thoughts on this are much appreciated.
If this is indeed a problem, how should I approach the developer/site manager, on what grounds etc?
Any suggestions much appreciated.

To be fair, this forum has seen a lot worse than this. And the standard of brickwork looks quite good.
It would be possible to tint darker some of the lighter bricks to blend it in a bit better.

I could also be that the darker bricks are wetter than the rest due to cavity trays and the parapet.
In this case they would dry out.

No harm in reporting your dissatisfaction to the site manager and ask about tinting as this is likely to always bother you in the years to come.

To be honest, I'd say it looks pretty ok.
In my opinion, it's not bad enough to do anything about it.
I'd say it even looks fine, but that's just my taste. Maybe you can ask if there's a way to paint it or something else if you're not satisfied.
