Title: Poor brickwork?? Completion impending
Post by: Tweed1502 on January 17, 2021, 11:28:58 am
We have managed to view our build throughout the process from a path in front of the house.
We are coming close to completion (mid February) and have noticed some problems with the brickwork on the gables of the garage.
We have contacted the sales team to express our concerns and they have said that the bricks are wet and will settle in.
They WILL NOT be doing anything to resolve it. It is apparently within the allowances that they have.
Would appreciate some advice on our next steps as we are really not happy.
The developer are extremely hard to deal with do not offer any compromise about anything.
We are spending A LOT of money and want to get it right.
Thanks in advance all

You don't name the housebuilder which is useful to those others reading your post.
From the photos it looks a bit Redrow to me.

The small gable on the garages could easily be taken down and rebuilt.
There are no "tolerances" for different colour brickwork, it is either acceptable or not.

You are 100% wasting your time reporting anything to the site sales.
Write to the construction or managing director of the regional office and send a copy of your photo!

I doubt the weather would have got hot enough to dry brickwork by February so by the summer it may be too late.
The least they can do is get a specialist contractor to tint the bricks so the colour difference is less noticeable.
