We are having a new build house built by a Northern UK developer.
The build has been underway for a couple of months now, and I went to see progress today from a far and I could only get to see the rear of the house, but the brickwork looks really patchy which I am concerned about.
Please can I have your opinion.

Hi I have a similar problem. Saw my house for the first time yesterday and was supprised to see patchy brickwork. What are my options?

Yes, that looks really bad too.
I have gone back to the builder and told them that this is unacceptable quality of brickwork and hoping they take it down and do it properly. I am still waiting a response.
I was hoping an expert would be able to confirm that this was unacceptable?

There is no harm in contacting the builder at this early stage particularly in writing as it lets them know well in advance you want your home built to a good standard and wont settle for anything less.
That said, it really dos look to me that the brickwork is just wet by varying degrees.
It is a pity that it was not covered up each night (which it should be for protection against frost!) which would have helped.
There is a likely chance that once the bricks dry out you will have salt drawn to the surface causing white patches which will take a while to wash off and weather.
Finally, please name the housebuilders when using the forum.
It gives others browsing information they might find useful and will hopefully prevent other new home buyers getting a poor quality house with similar defects.
