Title: New home with loads of problems
Post by: Losttheplot on December 11, 2012, 08:31:07 am
I moved into my new home in September and have had nothing but problems.
I wish I had found this website before I even went looking.
Among the many issues I have had are:
Plumbing leaks,
Waterlogged rear garden.
Noise from neighbour due to insufficient sound insulation.

.........and I am fed up coming home to mud being all over the roads.  I don't want this for the next however many years.
I will never buy another new home that's for sure!

Sorry to learn you have had so many problems with your new home LTP.
Like many UK new home buyers, you are finding the dream is more of a nightmare.
When will the big house builders start to give priority to their buyers ahead of numbers and profits.
Don't forget to express your views when (or if) you get sent the HBF new homes customer satisfaction survey. (http://www.brand-newhomes.co.uk/national-new-home-customer-satisfaction-surveys.htm)

I have filled in my HBF survey.
I doubt they will get their five stars next year!

The HBF SURVEY ...is in my opinion flawed

Its all down the numbers , where and how they acquired them and then how they present them.

Anyone giving the surveys a cursory look ...will think ...oh great ...but give it thought and it leaves one with even more questions and suspicions.

It has the potential to be manipulated.
Only around 30% of the homes built by the larger house builders ever return one so the results are not indicative.
Even so the results are weighted anyway and the HBF only make public the builder's survey answers to the two star rated questions not the others.
When asked about this the HBF spokesman said it:
"would most certainly have provided food for those who are prejudiced against the industry and simply seek to criticise."
