Mastic Seal ?

AOIS:
Please could someone advise if there is a reason why the mastic seal around the middle hinge of the door shown in the picture sticks out compared to around the top hinge?

Top hinge.

New Home Expert:
The door or brickwork opening is not straight or plumb.
There is more room from the hinge to the wall so mastic can be "tooled" at the top hinge.
