Just looking for some advice.
I purchased new build almost 4 years ago and from the off had drainage issues (blockages etc), which the builder ignored about for a year until I escalated it and from then was semi taken seriously.
The result was my garden being ripped up and drainage supposedly put right by the original groundwork contractors .
Well it wasn’t right so I ended up paying for an independent to come survey the drainage and present a report to the house builders and only then did they listen.
This has resulted in us having to move out of the house for 'maximum' 5 months. The kitchen has been taken out, utility and taken some walls down to then allow them to cut/take out the concrete floor to expose the drainage.
They have had independent surveyors there to report as they are taking the groundwork company to court. I then get a call yesterday, to say they have observed that the steel hasn’t gone into foundation as it should and it’s in the wrong orientation and therefore doesn’t have the required torsional load required point to point - therefore they have to lift the whole concrete floor in the house. At this point I said they may as well knock the house down and start again - yet they believe all is ok!
Can anyone advise on help to deal with this - legal position, a solid independent surveyor etc.
