Persimmon Homes, Britain's largest house builder by market value, acquired Kent-based house builder Hillreed Homes for £35.7million last month.
This was the first major acquisition in the sector for five years.
The acquisition on 8 October added around 3,400 plots to Persimmon's landbank.
