What do you think of the NHBC?
« on: June 04, 2011, 09:25:19 am »
Let us know your views and experiences on the NHBC and the  NHBC  Buildmark new home warranty.
The NHBC get a lot of bad publicity, especially on TV, but how bad do you think new homes would be if the NHBC didnt exist?
If you have claimed against your NHBC Buildmark policy let the forum know your experience.

I have to admit that in my professional capacity over the last 10 years I have spent much time criticising the NHBC
but recently with the emergence of new warranty companies .....my thoughts have changed

now I say ...consider long and hard before buying from any other warranty company

for legal reasons I wont say which companies to avoid ...or why

but if anyone wants to get in touch I am happy to share my experiences of all the different warranty providers out there

For many years the BBC via Watchdog and many others have been bashing the NHBC.
But without the NHBC, the standards and quality of new homes would be even worse!

It should be noted that the NHBC is a non-profit making organisation too.

If any house builder does not provide an NHBC warranty, should be a warning signal to potential buyers who should be asking themselves why?
It could be that the NHBC withdrew or refused the builder membership for one reason or another, which would be bad for the new home buyer.
