Legal expenses insurance - after the event (ATE)

(1/1)

Cyril:
Please can anyone recommend an insurance broker who may provide after the event (ATE) legal expenses insurance for homeowners who are taking a builder to court.

New Home Expert:
I don't think there wopuld be an insurer in the Wolrd that would prvide after the event legal expenses cover.

You may mean No Win No Fee solicitor.

I can recommend giving Timothy Waitt Solicitor and Partner a call at:

Solicitor & Partner
Anthony Gold Solicitors
The Beehive Coffee Tavern
496 Streatham High Road
London SW16 3QB

Direct dial: D 020 7940 4090
Telephone: 020 7940 4000

He may not be able to do "no win no fee" but may be able to give you some advice and recommend someone.

Cyril:
After the event insurance exists but is more common for businesses than individuals and common enough for the larger law firms.
I believe it's linked to some No Win No Fee cases.
Thank you for the details of Timothy Watt.

Moxi:
Are you sure an insurance broker is who you are looking for? According to the internet, an insurance broker is: "A professional who acts as an intermediary between a consumer and an insurance company, helping the former find a policy that best suits their needs. Insurance brokers represent consumers, not insurance companies; therefore, they can't bind coverage on behalf of the insurer."  In addition, the information provided by an insurance broker can't be treated as facts or used in court.
