Title: Does the Insurance industry help the economy?
Post by: The Prophet on July 09, 2011, 11:47:40 am
In developing countries where welfare systems are poor as in most of Asia, people tend to save more. It is thought that access to insurance policies would enable these people to enjoy their money without having to continue saving.

If say the Chinese buy more life insurance policies it could free up 2% of their savings for consumption and add 0.6% to China’s economic growth.

It is believed the insurance companies would in turn reinvest in long term financing of China’s infrastructure projects.

The insurance companies that are invested in the long term approach for economic growth, like other countries, also give the implication on the running of a country's economy and financing should always maintain stability for the global market.
