Are your home contents underinsured?
« on: June 19, 2011, 01:06:45 pm »
20% of British homes are underinsured
A LloydsTSB Insurance survey reveals that a fifth of UK homes are underinsured.  A staggering 10% of homes were underinsured by 62%.
For the survey, investigators looked at the contents of real homes checking valuable items and found a disparity with the value of the contents and the contents insurance cover the home owner has.

It is important to regularly check that your insurance policy is still adequate for the actual current value of your contents of your home.
This should be done at least annually say around the time of renewal.
If you are underinsured and the worst happens, you could find that you only receive a proportion of the amount of your claim.

People don't realise this until they need to make a claim.
Then it will be too late.
Home insurance should not be skimped on.
