Mobile phone coverage affects house prices
« on: July 12, 2011, 10:30:03 am »
In a recent poll 84% said that mobile phone coverage was a must-have when considering a home move.
One in six say they would demand a reduction in either asking price or rental as compensation for any lack of signal.
More than a third of those polled said they would dismiss buying or renting a home unless it could pick up a mobile signal.

I would have thought most people would use the cheaper landline when they are at home.
It shows just how far the world has moved on, everyone needing to be in constant contact!

I'm not so sure I agree with Fred there. I think for a lot of people the use of a landline isn't really a must in any way. Many people solely use their mobile phones. Still, it's all very interesting, and it's easy to forget to check your mobile signal when looking round a property!

Unfortunately a landline is a must for broadband and to get this you have line rental.
In most cases the cost of calls from a landline are free anyway.
People like mobiles because they feel they are always contactable.

How did we all manage without mobile phones?
