House prices have recovered better in some areas than others
« on: February 29, 2012, 09:06:14 am »
Since the last peak in 2007, Halifax figures show house prices are still lower in almost every part of England, Scotland and Wales.

The percentage change of the six best and six worst performing local authority regions in the period 2007 – 2011:
Best performers:
Rochford                            1%
South Lakeland                    0%
Islington                           -1%
Spelthorne                        -2%
Windsor and Maidenhead      -3%
Worthing                           -3%

Worst performers:
Bromsgrove                        -34%
Northumberland                  -33%
Wrexham                           -32%
Neath Port Talbot               -31%
Pendle                              -31%
South Staffordshire             -30%

Have London property prices finally gone mad?
A 21ft x 15ft freehold double garage in Knightsbridge, around the corner from Harrods, is on the market with an asking price of £525,000.
