Home ownership in Britain is now 66%
Britain is far from being the top home-owning nation. 
Figures from the Nationwide reveal that Britain is behind countries like Hungary, Greece, Italy and Spain - all of which currently have sovereign debt problems.
Britain's home ownership peaked at 71% in 2003.

Ireland          74%

Sweden         63%

Netherlands   56%
