Title: Who build the lowest quality new homes?
Post by: Admin on June 12, 2011, 01:52:27 pm
Vote for Britain's worst house builder:
If you have had lots of defects, endless snagging and remedial works.
Or any other problems with your house builder give then the thumbs down here and vote!

Perhaps the question should be which builders allow the longest time to build their new homes?
I believe it is the ever shorter build programmes, that give those on site precious little hope of ever producing a defect-free new home.
A case of "stuff the quality just get it finished if you want your bonus/to keep your job" etc etc

I am afraid that ...the situation you have described pretty much sums up the situation in my experience

I don't think site managers go out to build poor quality ...its tight deadlines and poorly paid contractors that lead to inferior finishes and certainly the higher management view homes as a product and they become numbers and bonus statistics ...customer care departments are the only growing sector of the new build industry.

That's the real problem, no one cares anymore.
It is not just the house building industry but everywhere at the moment.

Only those with a moral conscious who WANT to do a day's work for a day's pay to the best of their ability.
Senior managemant have only been concerned about numbers for many years. Quality will always be second to numbers and profits.
It really is up the the NHBC to stop toadying up to house builders and refuse to accept and sign off poor quality new homes.
