No bathroom window fitted - just a hole left in the wall!
Fence in wrong place losing 2metres of garden.
Flooding, leaks and a boundary wall collapsing on to three cars.
No cavity wall insulation and sloping landing floor.
"In 2015 Kirklees Council ordered it to stop work on a development in Huddersfield while it sorted the drainage after residents reported flooding and sink holes.
In Wrexham, Clwyd, Harron Homes stopped work on a half-finished estate in 2007 and are yet to return. Householders living next to it complain of open sewers and rats blighting the community."
Harron Homes told the Guardian:
"We are working with our customers to undertake the general snagging work, which is commonplace with new- build homes..."
There is snagging - small defects corrected before handover - and then there is major defects and non adherence to standards and regulations. In any case whilst it may indeed be "commonplace with new build homes" if housebuilders and the trades they employ cared and built the homes diligently and properly checked every stage, then defective new homes handed over to buyers would cease to happen.
