Title: Osborne Finds Even More Money To Hand To House Builders
Post by: New Home Expert on November 27, 2015, 08:37:36 am
George "We are the builders" Osborne finds even more money down the back of the treasury sofa to hand to privately-owned plc housebuilders.

As the government quest to get as many people home owners as possible regardless of affordability, future interest rates or the economy, Chancellor George Osborne announced in his spending review, that he intention to provide state subsidised homes for first time buyers.

Christmas comes early as Osborne announces he intends to hand over £2.3billion,  (from we know not where) to private sector housebuilders for "affordable housing" consisting of 8,000 new housing association homes for older people and those with specialist needs and 135,000 houses made available under a shared ownership scheme.

Under the scheme, the £2.3bn will be given to private housebuilders so they can build 200,000 homes with a maximum value of £450,000 inside London and £250,000 elsewhere. First-time buyers will get the full benefit of a 20% discount provide they don-t sell the home for five years.

Yesterday Osborne was on another Hi-Vis publicity outing, this time at a Persimmon site in Essex, he met with CEO Jeff Fairburn and was all over the TV news as he attempted to lay bricks from the wrong side of the wall!

He was also interviewed, not wearing a safety helmet - against site rules and setting a very poor example. Presumably Osborne was kept well away from a site with homes that were sold and due to be legally completed for the Persimmon end-of-year figures rush?
