Scottish Power is to raise their gas price by 19% and electricity by 10% affecting all 2.4 million domestic customers from August 2011.
This will mean an extra 48p a day for their average dual fuel customer.
Dont be affaid to switch suppliers if you suffer extortionate price increases.

They may be the first to raise prices but the rest of the energy cartel will follow.
Time for a fixed rate?

It may be a good idea if the house builders started fitting wood burners and real fireplaces again.
Solar panel roof "tiles" may also be a good long term investment.
With ever increasing energy prices, maybe everyone should be thinking of renewable energy for the home.

I like the idea of solar panels.
Especially with the government feed-in tarriffs.
I think you need a south facing roof and enough room for at least six panels to make it pay though.
