Overseas energy companies pushing up UK prices
« on: July 25, 2011, 12:06:46 pm »
Most energy companies are increasing the price of gas by 18% and electricity by 11%.
However, the rises are not anywhere near as high in other european countries where the energy suppliers are based.

The increases in other European countries:
Spain:       Gas:  Nil     Electricity:  1.5%    Owns ScottishPower (SSE)
France:      Gas:  Nil     Electricity:  3%      Owns EDF Energy
Germany:   Gas: 11%   Electricity:  Nil       Owns N Power
Italy:         Gas:  Nil     Electricity:  Nil

UK watchdogs are concerned that foreign-owned energy companies are putting up UK prices to subsidise prices in their own country.

Wholesale Gas prices are a THIRD LOWER than in 2008 so why are we getting PRICE RISES?.
