The Misery Index uses increase in the Country's cost of living, consumer price inflation and its unemployment rate to come up with a snapshot of how happy people are in a particular country.
The UK's Misery Index is at an 18-year high, with Britain the 9th most miserable place to live, with a 13.3 score, followed by the US with a score of 13.
Happiest are the Swiss with a score of just 3.5 followed by Japan with 4.8.
Most miserable is South Africa with a score of 28.9, followed by Spain with 23.99.
