FIFA - SEPP BLATTER
« on: May 31, 2011, 07:46:39 am »
Isnt the current fiasco at FIFA entertaining?

Accusations of bribery, counter claims, lame excuses and explanations of incriminating e mails.

Especially after England getting stitched out of hosting the 2018 World Cup.

FIFA must be finished now - there is no way back.  By all means carry on with the World Cup in Rio in 2014, after all they have nearly finished the stadiums.  But for 2018 world football should form a break away organisation, one country one vote.  They could then re vote for 2018 and 2022.  We could call it Premier World Cup.  The Top European countries plus Argentina, Brazil and Mexico.

Fifa could hold their "World Cups" in Russia and Qatar.
The new organisation and its members would hold their own World Cup.  Then we will see who gets all the advertising revenue.

So Sepp Blatter got 186 votes out of a possible 203 and was "elected" for FOUR MORE YEARS (2015).

When countries hold elections with only one candidate they call it a dictatorship.  I thought that the UN was against those!

I see the Cypriate FA FIFA member got on his high horse and said "we have a lot to thank the English for.....what a great language, thye have great words like ACCUSATION, great word, it means you can say things without any evidence or having to prove them"   No bribery in FIFA then?

Well that's our chances of a World Cup in England gone forever. when a footballing powerhouse like Cyprus with all their footballing achievements starts criticising us we have no chance.  Mind you would think they be better off trying to get their country back!

This was even discussed on "Have I got news for you" last night.
Hislop said it was Greece though - probably why he always loses!

It was a pity that we didnt get the World Cup in 2018.
I will now not see it in England in my lifetime which is sad.
Mind you, there would probably be only four games that England played in anyway!
